New Year, Better You: 3 Steps to a Happier and Healthier 2025

As I step into 2025, I am reminded of something powerful; the new year brings healing and growth no matter how big or small. As a divorced dietitian and single mom, I know how easy it is to lose yourself in the everyday chaos of life- balancing co-parenting, work and the emotional toll of rebuilding after divorce. But I also know that small, intentional steps can lead to lasting changes.

This year, it’s time to focus on nourshing our bodies, calming our minds and getting back in-touch with your soul. Here are 3 steps to help you embrace your happiest, healthiest self in 2025.

  1. Start with Simple Meals

Eating more balanced meals doesn’t need to be complicated. Commit to cooking 1 homemade, nutrient-packed meal each day. Think hearty soups, sheet pan dinners or protein smoothies packed with colorful fruits and veggies. Need a start? Check out my simple Beef and Cabbage Crockpot Soup recipe for dinner this week.

2. Prioritize Self-Care

Self-care isn’t selfish-it will make you a better woman and mom. Whether it is a daily walk, journaling, or just a cup of steaming hot tea in silence, carving out time for yourself is key to connecting and rediscovering yourself. These small, simple acts of care will help you recharge and show-up for yourself and the people who matter most to you.

3. Let Go of Perfection

Life after divorce often feels like starting over, but remember; it’s progress, not perfection. Remember no matter how hard life feels, there is always something to be grateful for. Celebrate the small wins, like finding a new meal that everyone loves or setting boundaries when co-parenting. Healing is a marathon, not a sprint! Remember

Let’s Thrive in 2025! It is time to step into your power and create that healthy, fulfilling life you deserve. Leave the guilt, overwhelm and old habits that no longer have a purpose in life. Turn small changes into big transformations.
